Pastor Rick Williams - Violet Baptist Church, Pickerington, OH

“As pastors we need repeated times of renewal in our lives if we are going to finish well. I recently had the opportunity to take a Sabbatical. I spent one of the weeks at Hurley Haven. The beautiful setting of marshes, beaches, wildlife, and surf, together created an environment of tranquility and peace. My wife and I spent time together praying, reading, playing, and resting. We highly recommend this as a place for rest, renewal, and replenishment!”

Pastor Mark Walker - Seaside Vineyard, Beaufort, SC

"I first heard of Hurley's Haven from Nancy, who might be a bit biased toward the place. OK, I had to see and to feel for myself. So, with my initial visit and my initial stay, I was a bit overwhelmed by the tranquility and rest that came so naturally. The surroundings inside and out are those that cause the clingy things that we deal with so much on a daily basis - this place causes them to more or less fall off at the gatehouse on the way in. It's not the Fripp Island bubble, or the salt air. Both are wonderful, but sometimes the "resort" ends up being the "last resort" on your list of "things to do in order to get some rest" list. But I did feel like something was missing. From the very first time I was there and I took in the view from the deck, I knew something was missing. And after a few trips out with my wife, I've finally figured it out just what it is...a simple letter "e." It should be known as "Hurley's Heaven." I don't think God would be offended, it's the closest I've found.

You've got to try it.

Pastor Steve Hopkins, Bible Teaching/Leadership Resource (Southern Baptist Convention)

"Denise and I had the most refreshing get-away we've experienced in 30 years of marriage. The Shepherd's Sanctuary on Fripp Island (SC) is a great place to quiet the competing voices and hear from the Father. Nancy Hurley has made this great three bedroom 'tree-house' available for ministry couples at less than half the going rate. We found everything we needed, a great view of the sunset, bicycles for a ride to the beach, and lots of quiet time to just enjoy being together. A day trip to Savannah and a stop at the outlets at Hilton Head was fun too.

The Father gave me 1 Peter 5:1-10 for the week, especially v. 10 "Now the God of all grace... will personally restore, establish, strength and support you..." His presence restored, established, strengthened and supported us beyond our expectations. We plan on returning to 'Hurley Haven' often."
